I know that things have been quiet from me but
I have been waiting for the technology in HFPN to catch up to it's
original plan.
I have waited all I can wait and I can wait no more!!!
I have am putting some stuff together and know you will love it. You
will have the nitty gritty details in the next couple of weeks. For
now here is the big picture.
I am running a workshop on February 20th here in Natick, MA with a
colleague of mine who is an amazing physical therapist, Todd Forman.
We will be bridging the gaps between a squat assessment, multiplanar
transitional assessments and goniometry. YES!
We will be covering all of this, with goniometry in a 1 day workshop.
It will be game changing and the A-Team will have first crack at it.
I have also worked out a deal with Todd to get my A-Teamers that are
in my HFPN group a copy of the DVD "Goniometry for Personal Trainers"
that we shot last month DIRT CHEAP.
So Happy New Year and keep an eye out for the links to the
Goniometry/Range of Motion DVD and the Range of Motion Workshop on
2/20.

NASM PRO A-Team Coaching: Social Media and Social Networking with Web 2.0
Hello A-Teamers,
As we anticipate the launch of the new NASM PRO, it's time to start some of our training.
You can visit and follow me, or just take a look how I have set things up at;
http://theericbeard.blogspot.com
http://ericbeard.com (may change to theericbeard.com)
http://facebook.com/theericbeard
http://twitter.com/ericbeard (have but do not use yet theericbeard)
http://www.linkedin.com/pub/eric-beard/5/813/804
http://myspace.com/theericbeard
http://www.google.com/profiles/ebeard71
or my You Tube channel http://youtube.com/theericbeard
This is a lot of stuff if you are new to social media and I don't want to overwhelm anyone, so let's just start in one place...we could talk for hours about Facebook, but let's just dip our toe into the water and if you are already there splash around a bit
..after all social networking is about fun...helping others and promoting yourselves. By the way, "Web 2.0" is just a term for the kinder easier to use Internet these days that requires minimal technical prowess to be able to use.
So...go to http://facebook.com/theericbeard and click the green button that says "sign up". You need a name and an email, and if you are reading this you probably have both:).
From there;
1) upload a picture of yourself, that you like, that people can recognize you by. If can be fun, playful or more professional. I chose my picture because I am laughing/smiling and I have a shirt and tie on. I think it looks relatively professional, but not uptight. If you are using Facebook purely for the social aspect, and not business then you can put a shot of yourself doing keg-stands if you want, but if there is any professional crossover, keep in mind what the people you want to do business with are thinking when they see your photo. Personality, individualism and flair are great but keep in mind who you are working with. I have several male friends on facebook who have their shirts off in their profile picture, and they look great! If their target audience wants to lean down, get ripped or muscular and your body is a billboard for their goals...then that is 100% okay. For me, first of all I look now where near as good as those guys with my shirt off (maybe I should hire them to train me lol!), secondly I promote myself as a corrective exercise specialist and business building resource to other professionals, so I tried to come up with a picture that did that while showing some personality.
How did I do on my picture, honestly?
Jonthan Budd, one of my mentors has a great professional and friendly picture on Facebook if you want to see a video of how he presents himself watch this vid (WARNING-this is a sales page, he is pitching an awesome program with a free 8 day marketing bootcamp, I love it, I use it..no pressure to sign up but I want you to see how he uses personality and professionalism at least http://tinyurl.com/mu49sy
This has been a good post so far, but I am thinking that a screen capture video may be better, what do you think?
So go to http://facebook.com/theericbeard and friend me or sign up for a FREE account and then friend me, fill in your profile with a good pic and more on the next post!
***will cover this again later...but when friending someone ALWAYS add a message to the friend request and say hello to the person and tell them where you may know them from. I meet over 1,000 people per year at workshops and sadly enough, I wish I did :), I do not recognize each person by name or Facebook picture alone. A Simple;
"Hi Eric,
We met at a workshop you taught in London last November. I was the one with the Red Sox hat on. I really enjoyed the Corrective Exercise information you covered. Do you want to connect on Facebook? I hope you and your family are well!
Larry Budd Mellman"
